My mother has the predecessor to this cookbook (The Pleasures of your Processor, which is now out of print) and I grew up on it's basic as well as delicious recipes. When I moved to my own home it was the first cookbook I purchased!

This book really should have been called "The Kosher Food Processor Bible." Some of the recipes look pretty good (to be honest, I haven't tried any yet) but I was really put off by the fact that entire categories of food I enjoy (shellfish, for example) were missing. And calling for margarine instead of butter may be appropriate for kosher diets, but it's not good nutritionally or in the culinary sense. (And in case anyone suspects me of bias, I'm Jewish, but don't keep kosher.) I don't mind the idea of a k

I received a food processor for a birthday gift, and had no experience at all with one. The booklet that came with it only had a couple of recipes, and didn't really explain very well the uses of the various blades, etc. I bought this book and I love it! It really helped me to understand my machine, and the first recipe I used was for pie crust. It was honestly the best I've ever made, and I bake a lot. I made several batches and froze them for later use. The book is packed with yummy recipes, and they don'

After 38 years of using food processors I didn't think I could learn anything from another processor cookbook. How wrong I was! This book is a pleasure to read and each time I read it from cover to cover I learn something new. The tips are great and detailed. The recipes are varied and cover almost everything one might want to make from appetizers to desserts. They are simple to execute yet nice enough for dinner parties. Every recipe I have tried comes out perfectly. I find myself using this bo

Seller sent a condensed version of the book I requested and failed to respond to my e-mails informing them of the error. The book I ordered had over 400 pages, the version that was sent had about 250 pages and was an abbreviated version of the orginal book.

I'm not exactly sorry I bought this book. Some of the recipes are interesting and as someone new to food processors I've found helpful hints and information. But...first of all, I didn't realize this is a kosher cook book. So there are no recipes which use meat with dairy, no pork, no shellfish. That's OK because I have plenty of other cookbooks but it is seriously limiting. I noticed one of the recipes she calls for rice, but doesn't say if it's raw rice or cooked rice, and that's just from a quick glance

I splurged on a high end food processor many months ago and have been on a quest since then to expand my usage of it with the perfect cookbook. It's been quite the quest.

I discovered that food processors must have surfaced at a time when pickled foods were really hot and everyone was into things floating around in gelatin. I kid you not, the food processor cookbooks I looked through were like a menu for a 1960s or 1970s party and I wasn't sure why. I want a cookbook that's full of things I ca

The Food Processor Bible is alright as a cookbook but it would have benefitted by having more main meal recipes and pictures or illustrations for the visual learner. I have not really made any of the recipes in the book yet but I might be more inclined to try them if I could see what at least some of the recipes would look like when they were made. I am a new food processor owner and it would also have helped to have illustrations to show how to use the food processor.

THis cookbook is a very good "how to" type cookbook. I ran into a couple of negatives however. First is the cheap paper this cookbook is made with. Don't get it wet by any means. A drop of water on the page and it will show up after it dries with a warped page. Drop any quantity of fluid and it will need to be replaced. Very cheaply made and no quality of construction at all. I have done a few recipes and I found one with instructions to coarsely chop some nuts for about 8 seconds. When I did that I wound u

This book is an excellent book if you have a food processor. It has great recipes and it has a large section where it explains in detail how to use your food processor, which blades to use for what task, and even tells you how to clean it. I received a food processor as a gift for Christmas, and the book that comes with the appliance is not detailed enough. The Food Processor Bible will help you get the most out of your food processor. The Food Processor Bible is especially good because it covers the basic procedures as well as the more intricate recipes. I had never used a food processor and knew nothing about how they operate. With this cookbook, I was able to start off slowly then proceed to more complex operations. I would highly recommend it.

I definitely think there are other, better books to use as a main "go to" book. If you are adding to a library of cookbooks, there are some interesting recipes here to probably make it worth it. Like another reviewer said, I wish the nutrition facts were included. I sent this back.

Having never owned a food processor, I had an idea of what they would do -- but needed a book like this to really explain all the different functions. This book does just that and more. I've only tried 3 or 4 recipes so far, but all have been very good, using items that I have on hand most of the time.

Not for a Texas farm girl!
No ham, pork roast, bacon drippings, make your own sausage recipes!
Great book for Kosher cooks including a whole chapter on Passover but no Easter Ham.
I just couldn't relate to the recipes.
"NO PICTURES" and I mean "NO PICTURES AT ALL NOT EVEN OF THE FOOD PROCESSOR OR IT'S PARTS", very important to a cook.
I don't even know anyone I could give this book too.
Sorry but I returned for a refund!

I agree with the other reviewers about the number of terrific recipes, tips and tricks included in this book.

But I was EXTREMELY disappointed that the recipes do not include the nutritional information. In this day and age where obesity is skyrocketing, it is irresponsible not to include information that helps us choose recipes that are not only tasty, but healthy for us as well.

I hope this information will be included in the next edition.

This is an OK book. I liked the simple recipe for potato pancakes; it worked perfectly and it is a type of food (a wet batter that blends potatos and onions) that can only be made effectively in a food processor. However, like the other food processor books I own, it focuses too much on sweets, from muffins to cakes--stuff that (1) you should never feed to children, unless you want to contribute to an addiction to sugar and to the national child obesity problem, and (2) you should never feed t

I found this book helpful but I wish it had more info on the different discs we can get for the processor and what each can be used for, etc. There are some of us that are so new to a processor and need to know more details. For awhile during the dissolution I scanned recipes of hers that I used a lot into my computer, but after some time the book just disintegrated and eventual

I got this book when I got my new food processor. While the recipes are great (especially the whole wheat bread), there are many other cookbooks out there that have better ones. I feel like a lot of the steps in the recipes could be done more quickly by hand. For example, mincing one clove of garlic in a food processor is pretty pointless.

However, for anyone new to their food processor (or to the kitchen), this does a nice job of giving you ideas for how to use that machine. The recipes

After getting this book, it sat on my shelf for over a year before I finally got rid of it at a cookbook swap this month.
